Society never learns as we read this book we see that what can happen will happen
A very sad scenario
This book is very interesting with a surprise twist at the end. A different writing style but still good science fiction
4 stars for encouragement. The book reads with the powerful imagery of a work of Tolstoy. At other times, it reads like the script for a movie as the author seems to be trying desperately to create the right setting. And in other parts, like the prologue, it reads like words right out of the biblical old testament. It's a quick read, and not a bad way to pass a few hours waiting for a train or plane. As long as you don't mind pictures of wanton carnage and graphic death.
I liked it,but it just felt like something was missing. I would recommend it to other people to read though
Short, dark and written simply but it carries the many themes of man in a post apocalyptic world with a little sci-fi thrown in.
I enjoyed this story. I loved how the author played on the stereotypical gender roles of male and female. The attention to detail in some chapters reminded me of Anne Rice. Not controlling the reader's imagination but guiding it. I also enjoyed the amount of information and character play that was involved. Paris, Troy, and Christopher all reminded me of historical people real or otherwise. Paris heading to this land guided by passion or love. Troy the lame horse with a possible trick up his sleeve and Christopher heading to a new world that may or may not be friendly. It was great read and I highly recommend it.
I was just going to read a few pages to see if I might want the book, and I was hooked after reading the whole sample. I really enjoyed the poetic opening, and after I downloaded the book, I read most of it this morning. Very intriguing premise, and I liked the spare narrative and the excellent dialogue.
